Public Playtesting, Twitch Integration, SteamDeck and 20.000 Wishlists!
Developers Table - June
Hey there!
This itch.io post format, that I hereby name "Developers Table", will be a way to communicate the most recent changes,
give little peeks at planned features and share awesome stuff that the community has created!
It's only been two weeks since we reached 10.000 Wishlists and here we
are already at the next milestone - 20.000!
Thank you all for following us and showing your support and
interest in Gamblers Table, this is nothing but amazing!
If you aren't part of this yet and want to: Wishlist the game now!
Just as last time we would like to share some development updates.
SteamDeck Support
Not only have we worked on supporting all kinds of controllers by creating a virtual mouse cursor that you move with your left stick, but we have also tested and optimized the game for natively playing on your SteamDeck - no Proton needed!
I myself am a keen enjoyer of the Steam-To-Go variant of consoles and am extremely excited about this.
Achievements
Everyone seems to just love achievements - many of you requested them repeatedly.
We've coupled the achievement system with the hats of the little helpers. Meaning every achievement that you unlock is a new fashionable look to wear for your work force.
Twitch Integration
Okay, so this one I am especially happy about.
We thought long and hard how we can give the helpers more personality. One consequence of that thought was the addition of the hats.
But we also had the idea that helpers should be able to speak in one way or anothers - or at least share how they feel. But what would they say? Maybe only speak with emojis? We went back and fourth, but couldn't properly agree on something ... but then it hit me.
What if you could connect to any chat on Twitch.tv and the little helpers would represent the chatters? Bam! Added.
Here is a screenshot of connecting to random twitch channel that had a lot of concurrent viewers at the moment.
I've had so much fun implementing this. Even when it may not be used as much, it still will be one of my favorite features in the game so far.
So many ideas came from community suggestions.
If you also want to participate in the development and share your ideas with us,
we'd love to hear them!
You can either post on the Steam Community Hub or
join the Discord.
Speaking of Community
Even though it has only been some weeks, there has been an incredible amount of things in the community that happened.
I'd love to take some time and talk about them all!
Community Translations
We recently opened up all text in Gamblers Table to public translation in order to make the game accessible to as many people as we can.
And a lot of people chimed in to help us out! I wanted to take the time to give a big "Thank You" to everyone that contributed so far!
We currently support English German, French, Polish, Chinese, Italian, Spanish and Russian
And we are planning to add even more, so stay tuned!
Community Videos
Sooooo many cool videos popped up about Gamblers Table.
Not only are those a gret source for feedback, but also just really fun to watch as a developer.
Here are some of my favorites since the last post:
I always add every single video that I find about Gamblers Table to a playlist!
